IFS full form is Indian Foreign Service. The Ifs Full Form, also known as the Indian Foreign Service, is one of the prestigious posts in the Government of India. The Ifs is responsible for the foreign relations of the Indian government. The Indian Foreign Service is the public service wing of the Government of India, and one of the three All India Services of the Government of India. The Indian Foreign Service has 189 cadre posts. After clearing the written examination, the aspirants can either attempt the interview, which is generally 3 hours in length in Hindi or English or choose the first two levels only. There are 5-8 specializations/scopes of service at the graduate level under the Foreign Service of India. There is no age limit for training in the Foreign Service. The three-year, postgraduate-level training program starts from the year 1999.

Foreign Service aspirants need to have a minimum of 55% marks in B.Com. Or B.Sc. or any equivalent qualification with either English or Urdu as a compulsory subject. They also need to have participated in a competitive examination conducted by the Services Selection Board.
